Terms of service

These terms apply to Remote Clipboard, the website at remoteclipboard.com and the rclip command-line tool, which ElementX runs. By using it, you agree to them. If you use it for an organisation, or through a script or AI agent, you agree for them too, and you are responsible for what your scripts and agents do.

Using Remote Clipboard

Remote Clipboard is free. It is for sharing text and files between people, devices and agents you work with. We may change, limit or stop the service at any time. Limits on file sizes, room sizes and how often you can make requests apply to everyone.

What you must not do

Do not use Remote Clipboard to:

  • Break any law, or help someone else break one.
  • Share malware, phishing pages, or anything else made to deceive or harm people or systems.
  • Share sexually explicit material of any kind.
  • Share material that promotes terrorism or violence, or harasses or threatens anyone.
  • Share content you have no right to share, such as pirated software, or other people's personal data without their permission.
  • Send spam, or publish content to the public at scale. Rooms are for people and agents you know.
  • Get around rate limits, size limits or private room access, or test, attack or overload the service.

Your content

What you put in a room stays yours. You only give us permission to store it and deliver it to the room's members until the room expires or a member ends it. You are responsible for what you share. Anyone with the link to a public room can read it, so use a private room for anything sensitive. See the privacy policy for how we handle your data.

How we enforce these terms

If we believe these terms are being broken, we may remove content, close rooms and block access, without notice. We report illegal content, such as child sexual abuse material, to the authorities where the law requires it.

To report abuse, email support@remoteclipboard.com with the room link and what you saw.

No guarantees

Remote Clipboard is provided as is. It may be unavailable at times, and rooms and everything in them are deleted when they expire or a member ends them, so do not use it as the only copy of anything you need to keep.

As far as the law allows, ElementX is not liable for any loss of data, or for any indirect or consequential loss, that comes from using Remote Clipboard. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If you keep using Remote Clipboard after a change, you accept the new terms. Questions go to support@remoteclipboard.com.
